Yesterday, at about 11:45 in the morning, Mark felt he was sufficiently awake to ask me if I would marry him.
I said yes.
We then spent the rest of the day alternating between calling family members and friends to let them know and looking at houses in Durham. It felt like a pretty busy day.
To answer the two questions that seemed to come up most often:
- No, we don’t have a date yet. We figured the actual getting engaged was enough to get done yesterday. So as not to conflict with weddings of other people we know, we will be avoiding the months of May and October. It also won’t be in June, because I had a 2-week business trip to Asia. You now have as much information as we do.
- No, there is no engagement ring, nor am I waiting on one. The wedding rings we like are sufficiently unique that they’ll stand on their own, and there isn’t a good engagement ring that would match anyway.
Happy!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Oh my God! I’m so excited for you both! Congratulations! Donna at work is engaged too, and as an old, happy, married lady, I’m…what’s the word? Verklempt? This is great news.
We are so happy for you! You know how this family is about celebrations.
Kay
We can’t wait to hear more from you. We are very excited!
