As Mark and I are fast approaching our 2-month anniversary, I thought it’d be nice if I finally got around to posting a few of our favorite wedding photos. There are, of course, hundreds more, and my uncle Ray did a fantastic job taking them all, for which we are eternally grateful.
One of the first things people saw upon entering was the guest book. Mark’s mom made it for us and included one of our invitations inside the front cover.
Here’s one of the centerpieces from the reception tables downstairs.
The cake, of course, is a very important part of any wedding. Each layer was a different flavor, although at this point I’m hard-pressed to tell you what they each were, besides delicious. We have other pictures of more of the food, too, but they make Mark cry, because he got to spend so little time with it all.
Here’s a close-up of our rings. They’re titanium with a inlaid tilted band of yellow gold. They’re sitting on the cloth that was used for the handfasting part of the ceremony.
Here’s Mark, looking quite dashing in his tux before the ceremony.
But of course, everyone really knows that the wedding is truly about the bride. Or rather, her dress. My mother made mine, and it turned out wonderfully. We picked out the pattern together, made some alterations (like the elimination of all sequins), and then my mom sewed it all together. For the embellishment around the neckline, I drew the design and she embroidered it on.
Here’s the photo I’m referring to as my “glamour shot.” The necklace I’m wearing is a cameo that my mother and most of my aunts wore in their weddings. This was my turn, and it has now been passed on to my cousin who is getting married next year.
Here’s what the ceremony looked like from the audience.
This picture was during the recitation of the vows.
(It’s also the best shot of my hair and the back of the dress, not to cheapen the moment.)
Here I am putting Mark’s ring on his finger. Alas, his tuxedo was too hot, so his finger had gotten a bit swollen and I could only get it on halfway right then. He pushed it on the rest of the way on his own a little later.
This picture was taken after the ceremony, outside in the courtyard.
Overall, it was a remarkably low-stress day, and as far as we were concerned, everything turned out exactly the way it was supposed to, since we ended up married at the end of it. Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate, both near and far!

You were a stunning bride! It all looks lovely. Thanks for sharing your photos.
You look wonderful! Wish I wasn’t on the other side of the planet. Congratulations.
