Did I not mention on here that we got a second dog? I don’t believe I did. Allow me to introduce Ivy’s new toy, er, friend, Willow. Yes, he is actually a boy dog. Willow is a fine name for a boy dog. Actually, we mostly call him Tiny Pup right now, since he’s still small enough to walk under Ivy’s belly.
Some Willow stats: He just turned 3 months old. He gained 5 pounds in the first week we had him, so perhaps he will not be Tiny Pup for long. We think he is part Lab, part Shepherd, and maybe part hound of some sort, due to the white blaze on his chest and his white toes. (Also cool: The toenails on his white toes are clear, not black. Also, his footpads are mottled pink and black.)
Willow’s favorite hobbies currently are biting Ivy (in both a playful and a bratty way,) stealing her rawhide bones, and fitting himself into small places that she can’t fit anymore. She responds with returned biting, stealing the bones back, and sticking her head into the small places to growl at him. An example of his favored fighting style:
In one of the more amusing and unexpected returns from getting Ivy a sibling, she has suddenly decided she wants to be a lap dog. Upon seeing Willow demonstrate how well he can fit in my lap, it took her all of a day to decide that’s where she should be, too. Except she now weighs close to 60 lbs and can only fit her butt in my lap. This does not stop her from trying.
As a bonus, one of Ivy’s final pictures from her days as an only dog.
It appears that she loves water in all its forms, frozen and non. Maybe she’ll get some again next year!

Thaey are both so cute! I love the photo on the steps. Now I want to get Tad a little brother or sister (don’t think I will, though…at least not quite yet!)
[...] to my attention that this blog has been sadly short on dog pictures since way back when Willow was still a little puppy. He is now as tall as Ivy, but broader and 10 lbs heavier thanks to his pit bull heritage, so [...]
