This is a temari I did a while ago, but never posted about. The design is not really that hard to do, given that it’s my old favorite kiku petal stitch, but when you vary the lengths of the petals all the way around, what you end up with looks quite special.
This is another one where the longest petals reach across the equator line on the ball, so there’s no obi.
I like the way the colors worked out on this one, but whenever I get around the trying it again, I need to make sure my shortest petals are a bit longer. On this one, they get kind of hidden.
If you’re interested in trying to make this one yourself, there’s a variation of this pattern on Temarikai.
